Fifo settings windows 7
Help much appreciated! Last edited by Chard; at PM.. Appreciate 0. Lieutenant General. But you should know that Windows 7 64 bit home will not run ncsexpert. You have to upgrade to the pro version and reinstall the programs in xp mode.
I have ordered the pro upgrade. Ncexpert is running on my old xp laptop with the 32 bit version of xp home on 64 bit hardware. You need to make sure you are set to com1 and latency 1 that's it at least it worked for me. Inpa runs for me with just that even on the win 7 64 bit home but ncsexpert won't.
Last edited by ctuna; at PM.. Already touched on by ctuna, coding will not work at all in Windows 7 bit, at least not natively. You can either upgrade to a version of Windows 7 with "XP mode", or download something like VMware which is what I use. Both are virtualization solutions to run bit Windows which is what the software needs. Changing the FIFO buffers setting is no longer needed. See here step 7. Get those drivers and you'll be all set. You still need to set the latency to 1 and COM port to 1.
Thanks for the help guys. This is the cable I got btw I repeat, coding will not work in bit Windows. Yes, maybe the cable will work with bit drivers, but NCSExpert will not run. But I feel sick when anybody mentions vista. Its nice to have your own permanent setup as you can do diags and register your battery and other useful stuff.
I am upgrading to win 7 64 pro to get the xp mode. I have been told that will work but I also have an old xp machine that is already running I just don't like to use it as much cause its slow.
