It perhaps looks even better than current generation wrestling games at times. A fully voice-acted story mode, a brand new general manager mode , and a fully fleshed-out creation suite meant the improvements were astounding, to say the least. This game remains a pivotal point in the wrestling game genre and is still played, thoroughly enjoyed by many fans today.

The season mode gave you the ability to play your story however you wanted; challenging for a singles title, choosing a partner to go after the tag team titles, or jumping brands to challenge for those titles.
It gave you freedom of choice. There wasn't a designated path to follow in the story, which made the experience all the more enjoyable and gave it endless replay value.
Coming off the of the success of Wrestlemania , this installment in the series gave fans more than enough to keep them interested for years to come. WWF No Mercy was a Nintendo 64 exclusive that was received very well by fans of the series as it gave them the ability to create a pay per view, compete in new match types, or play through that year's new and improved season mode.
The game also had about 65 superstars, not including hidden character, which was a lot for its time.
